Sculptural works that push beyond the picture plane and change with the light around them.

The bird rests within its ruffled plumage. In white relief, calm emerges through shape, shadow and light.
See art in spaceA dimensional work changes the room around it. Scale, light and the surrounding architecture become part of the experience.

Created for a family that honours its traditions and roots. Conversations with the client shaped the symbolism of each detail: the work reflects a strong character who builds a business and shares his experience with others striving to grow.

A wall becomes the ground for a rising composition of flowers, curved stems and a bird. Light from above reveals the depth of the white relief.
Relief, painting and sculpture in dialogue with the spaces they inhabit.

At first, an arresting display: Swarovski crystals, extravagant hair, a crown of light that presses down. Beneath it, tender strands reveal the vulnerable nape and bare shoulders, only lightly covered by fur — a trace of animal instinct. Beauty can be a weight to carry.

A vision of primordial beauty: Earth imagined as a paradise, alive with form and abundance.

The raven stands upon books as an image of the power of science. Black relief makes knowledge a physical presence.

Volume gives these ideas a physical presence. Their surfaces shift with the viewer, the room and the light.

The artist
I’m Mila Cher, an artist based in the Toronto area. I create handcrafted sculptural wall reliefs, bringing together years of experience working with different materials and a love of philosophical storytelling.
Inspired by the magic of wings and the forces of nature, I explore themes of overcoming resistance, power, ambition, the thirst for knowledge, dependence, and vulnerability. Through imagery drawn from nature, these complex, sometimes contradictory themes take on an elegant and compelling form.
My approach sits at the intersection of fine art and interior design. I want my works to belong within a space while inviting people to pause and reflect.
From the studio
Drawing, structure and surface each shape the final work. Close viewing reveals marks and decisions that a flat image cannot fully hold.
